Live a Luxurious Lifestyle in an Intelligent Home

Many people in the Bay Area believe smart homes are built from the ground up and that technology must be integrated during the building phase. We’re always happy to dispel that misconception, letting clients know they didn’t miss out and can still have the smartest home on the block, no matter how long they’ve lived there.

Additionally, these systems are scalable. While some go full-bore, embracing the many smart systems, others prefer to add on a little at a time. They may start with smart lights, shades, and security or prioritize home entertainment. At Hermary’s, we embed scalability in every smart home installation, allowing clients to add on and adapt as their needs and families change.

Let’s explore a few of the key features of smart home living.

The Brains Behind a Smart Home

A system controller manages your smart home. You access the controller through user-friendly interfaces like touchscreens, wall keypads, remotes, and a mobile app. No matter where you are in your home or the world, you can control the many connected devices with one touch or voice command.

Some systems commonly managed by a smart home include climate (thermostats and fans), lighting, shades, garage doors, door locks, security cameras, TVs, music equipment, pools, spas, irrigation, and more.

But a smart home offers much more than one-touch control. We can also program it to take over everyday routines and perform functions based on certain conditions. These connected devices also communicate with each other.

Examples of an Integrated Smart Home

For instance, when you wake, your shades may open while the temperature rises and the morning news comes on the TV. When you leave for the day, your lights turn off, the thermostat adjusts, the doors lock, and the alarm arms. If someone stops by while you’re away, you can pull up the app, see who it is, and talk to them through the intercom. If it’s a friend, one tap will unlock the door.

And your smart home continues to work while you’re away, turning the lights on and off and opening and closing the shades. These random occurrences make your home look occupied, deterring potential burglars.

When you arrive home, the landscape and entryway lights illuminate, and your ‘Welcome Home’ playlist is already streaming through your whole-home audio system. When you press the ‘Dinner’ button, the lights transform to the ideal color and intensity, the perfect dinner music plays, and the shades lower for privacy. Is it family movie night? Simply press ‘Movies,’ and the lights dim as the movie begins.

Working with an Expert

As you can see, when installed, engineered, and programmed correctly, a smart home becomes intelligent, preparing itself for you in advance and preparing the perfect environment for all of life’s activities and moods, whether relaxing, hosting a dinner party, or making breakfast.

This level of integration requires extensive expertise in smart home living.
